Capitol Police offers spring citizens academy for District residents

Residents of the Capitol Complex Improvement District can now apply for the 2026 Spring Citizens Police Academy, which runs from April 20 to 28, according to the Capitol Police.

The program provides participants with a behind-the-scenes look at police operations, including driver simulation training, a K-9 demonstration, forensic crime scene investigations, and ride-alongs with officers, officials said.

The application deadline is April 15, and space is limited. Interested individuals can apply online at dps.ms.gov under the Capitol Police tab.
