Food and Water Distribution Scheduled for Lafayette County and Oxford Today

Multiple food and water distribution sites are scheduled to open today in Lafayette County and the city of Oxford. The sites will operate from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. or until supplies run out, officials said.

In Lafayette County, distribution points include the Harmontown Sheriff’s Office Substation at 12 County Road 517, Lafayette High School at 160 Commodore Drive, Lafayette County Fire Station 3 at 22 County Road 369, and Oasis Church at 861 Highway 6 West. In Oxford, sites include City Hall, CB Webb, Wayne Johnson, and Thacker at Garden Terrace.

Officials emphasized that each person is limited to three days’ worth of supplies to ensure resources reach as many residents as possible. The distributions are staffed by the National Guard, who are working hard to serve the community.

Residents are asked to be patient and courteous during the distribution process. Supplies are limited, and distributions will continue until they are exhausted, authorities said.
