Food and Water Distribution Sites Open in Lafayette County on Jan. 31
Several distribution sites in Lafayette County will open today at noon to provide military ration packs and bottled water. The sites will operate from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. or until supplies run out, according to local officials.
Each person will be limited to three days’ worth of supplies to ensure that as many residents as possible can be served. The sites include the Harmontown Sheriff’s Office Substation at 12 County Road 517, Lafayette High School at 160 Commodore Drive, Lafayette County Fire Station 3 at 22 County Road 369, and Oasis Church at 861 Highway 6 West.
In the city of Oxford, distribution will be available at City Hall, CB Webb, Wayne Johnson, and Thacker at Garden Terrace. Officials urge residents to be patient and kind, as the National Guard is staffing the sites to serve the community. Supplies are limited and distributions will continue until they are depleted.
