Four critically injured in Lafayette County vehicle crash, deputies investigate
LAFAETTE COUNTY, Miss. — Four people were critically injured in a vehicle crash on County Road 313 on Feb. 7, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 7:33 p.m., the Lafayette County 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a vehicle off the roadway with multiple injuries. Deputies, along with Lafayette County Fire Department and Priority Ambulance Service, responded to the scene.
Firefighters arrived to find one vehicle off the road with four critically injured patients. Emergency medical personnel began life-saving measures immediately. Due to the severity of the injuries, four medical helicopters were requested, including Hospital Wing, Pafford Air, and Air Evac.
Three patients were transported to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, while one was taken to Regional One Health in Memphis. All four patients were reported to be in critical condition at the time of transport.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is examining the cause of the crash. No additional details were available, and officials said they will release further information when appropriate.
