I-55 Northbound remains closed due to black ice, MDOT clears lane

The northbound lanes of Interstate 55 will remain closed until the Mississippi Department of Transportation can clear the right lane, officials said Wednesday.

Overnight conditions led to additional black ice formation on the interstate, creating hazardous driving conditions.

MDOT expects to reopen the lane later this morning once it has been cleared. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and stay updated on road conditions.
