Lafayette County conducts outdoor warning siren maintenance and testing

Lafayette County Emergency Management announced that scheduled maintenance will be conducted on the county’s outdoor warning system today. As part of the work, crews will test individual sirens at various locations across the county.

During the maintenance, brief siren activations are expected at different sites. These activations are for testing purposes only and should not cause concern. The testing will occur intermittently throughout the day.

Officials emphasized that residents do not need to take any action if they hear a short siren, as it is part of the maintenance process. The department thanked the community for its support as it works to ensure the warning system remains operational when needed.
