Lafayette County conducts scheduled outdoor warning siren maintenance

Lafayette County Emergency Management announced Tuesday that it would conduct scheduled maintenance on its outdoor warning system. As part of the work, technicians will test sirens at various locations across the county.

During the maintenance, residents may hear brief siren activations. Officials said these are part of testing and do not indicate an emergency. The activations will occur intermittently throughout the day.

County officials emphasized that there is no need for residents to take action if they hear a siren today. The maintenance aims to ensure the warning system remains operational in case of emergencies, they said.

Emergency officials thanked the community for their support as they work to keep the warning system ready when needed most.
