Lafayette County deputies assist stranded boater on Sardis Lake

Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a stranded boater on Sardis Lake today, according to a news release.

Several agencies assisted in the rescue, including the Lafayette County Fire Department, Lafayette County Emergency Management Agency, Army Corps of Engineers, and civilian boaters.

The agencies worked together to bring the boater safely back to shore, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

The sheriff’s office urged boaters to respond with valid safety equipment and to exercise caution while on the water.
