Lafayette County Offers Free Handgun Familiarization Course for Women

The Lafayette County Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy is hosting a free Ladies Handgun Familiarization Course on April 18 at the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

The course is designed to teach women how to safely handle a handgun and develop confidence with firearms. It will start at 7:30 a.m. and include a light breakfast and lunch, according to organizers.

Participants can register by picking up an application at the sheriff’s office or by emailing lcdc@lafayettesheriff.net. The event offers an opportunity to learn from experienced instructors in a safe, welcoming setting, officials said.
