Lafayette County, Oxford face risk of isolated severe storms Saturday

Lafayette County and the city of Oxford are under a marginal risk for isolated severe storms Saturday, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center and the Memphis office.

The NWS forecasts scattered showers developing after noon, with more widespread and steady rain throughout the afternoon and evening hours. Weather activity is expected to taper off between 9 and 10 p.m., the agencies said.

The marginal risk, level 1 of 5, indicates isolated severe weather is possible but not likely. Residents are advised to stay alert and monitor local weather updates throughout the day.
