Law enforcement agency welcomes Spring 2026 PIO interns from University of Mississippi

A law enforcement agency announced the arrival of two public information officer (PIO) interns from the University of Mississippi School of Journalism and New Media for the spring 2026 semester.

Rachel Phillips is returning for her second internship with the agency after previously working with them last summer and fall. Dacey Leonard is joining the team for the first time. Both interns will focus on social media, media relations, and gaining experience in law enforcement communications, according to the agency.

The agency expressed enthusiasm about having Phillips back and welcomed Leonard to the team. Officials said they look forward to seeing the interns develop their skills and contribute to the agency’s public information efforts.
