MREs and Water Distributed at Multiple Sites in Lafayette County
Multiple distribution sites in Lafayette County are providing Meals Ready-to-Eat (MREs) and water to residents. The distribution runs from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. or until supplies run out, whichever comes first, according to authorities.
Each person is limited to three days’ worth of supplies to ensure equitable distribution. The sites include the Harmontown Sheriff’s Office Substation at 12 CR 517, Lafayette High School at 160 Commodore Drive, Lafayette County Fire Station 3 at 22 CR 369, Oasis Church at 861 Highway 6 West, and several locations within the city of Oxford, such as City Hall, CB Webb, Wayne Johnson Thacker at Garden Terrace.
Staffing at the distribution sites is provided by the National Guard, who are working to serve the community amid limited supplies. Residents are advised to be patient and respectful as supplies last.
