MREs and Water Distribution Sites Open in Lafayette County and Oxford

Distribution sites for meals and water are open in Lafayette County and Oxford from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., or while supplies last, according to local officials.

Each person is limited to three days’ worth of supplies to ensure equitable distribution, officials said. The sites include the Harmontown Sheriff’s Office Substation at 12 County Road 517, Lafayette High School at 160 Commodore Drive, Lafayette County Fire Station 3 at 22 County Road 369, and Oasis Church at 861 Highway 6 West.

In Oxford, residents can visit City Hall, CB Webb, Wayne Johnson, or Thacker at Garden Terrace for assistance. Staffed by the National Guard, the distribution efforts aim to serve as many residents as possible while supplies last.

Officials urged patience and kindness at the distribution sites, emphasizing that supplies are limited and will be distributed until depleted.
