National Weather Service issues special weather alert for Lafayette County

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a special weather statement for Lafayette County, effective until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release.

The alert warns of wind gusts reaching up to 40 miles per hour and the possibility of nickel-sized hail. Communities affected include Oxford, Abbeville, Taylor, Denmark, Tula, and Paris.
