North East restores power after widespread outage

North East officials announced Wednesday that all substations are now energized and operational following a widespread power outage. The utility said it is making slow progress across the system, with a primary focus on restoring 3-phase lines that serve as the system’s backbone.

More than 60 crews from mutual aid partners and private contractors are working alongside local utility workers to restore power. The utility also partnered with the city to energize wells and support water supply efforts.

Crews are actively working throughout the service area, and officials asked residents for continued patience as restoration efforts continue.
