Oxford Girls Wrestling team sets school record with two state champions
The Oxford Girls Wrestling team made history Saturday, earning its highest-ever finish at the state tournament. The team secured two individual state championships and multiple top-five placements.
Anna Grace Perez competed at 100 pounds and finished as the state runner-up. Izzy Balkin placed third at 107 pounds, while Greyce Brown finished fourth at 120 pounds. Gigi Whitten secured third at 126 pounds, and Lauren Morris claimed the state title at 132 pounds.
Additional top performers included Prashna Tamang, who was runner-up at 165 pounds, and Nhari Jones, who won the state championship at 185 pounds. Nalani Haralston also finished seventh at 185 pounds, and Terri Tallie placed third at 235 pounds.
The team also earned titles as North Half State dual champions and North Half individual tournament state champions. They finished third at the state dual and took second place as a team at the individual state tournament, according to results provided by the school.
