Oxford hosts community events to shape parks and trails master plan

Oxford is holding two community events to gather input on its parks and trails as part of the Oxford Connects initiative. The events aim to turn the city’s Vision 2037 into actionable plans.

Oxford Connects is a community-driven effort that brings together residents, city officials, the University of Mississippi, Lafayette County, the Oxford School District, local organizations, and regional partners. The initiative focuses on strengthening what makes Oxford unique by aligning people, ideas, and places for a shared future.

The first event, an open house and panel discussion, is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, at the Oxford Convention Center. Registration is free and available online. The second event, a community hangout, will be held on Thursday, January 29, at Circle and Square. Attendees who register and participate will be eligible for door prizes.

Both events are open to the public and designed as come-and-go spaces where residents can explore ideas for Oxford’s parks and trails. More information about the 2037 plan is available on the city’s website.
