Oxford hosts inaugural community Easter egg hunt benefiting local pets

The Oxford Animal Resource Center hosted its first community Easter egg hunt Saturday, hiding more than 6,000 eggs for local children. The event aimed to support the center’s pet food pantry, with families donating items to benefit shelter animals.

According to ARC staff, every participating child left with a basket full of eggs, while shelter animals received additional attention and care. The event was described as a success by organizers, who are already planning for next year.

ARC staff expressed gratitude to volunteers and participants for making the event possible and for supporting the community’s animals. The center plans to hold the event annually to foster community engagement and aid local pets.
