Oxford Municipal Court Holds First Mock Trial of the Year

The Oxford Municipal Court hosted its first mock trial of the year Thursday in partnership with the Oxford Police Department.

The training session aimed to give newly sworn officers hands-on experience with courtroom procedures and trial testimony, including cross-examination techniques.

Judge Marc Boutwell, Prosecutor Jay Chain, attorney Mickey Mallette, court clerk Nickie Denley, and others contributed to the session, according to officials.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to prepare officers for courtroom proceedings and improve law enforcement collaboration with the judiciary.
