Oxford police hold person of interest in Jackson Avenue bank robbery

The Oxford Police Department announced that a person of interest is in custody in connection with a bank robbery that occurred earlier today on Jackson Avenue.

Police credited the community’s cooperation and the efforts of officers, dispatchers, and investigators for their quick response. They also thanked the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department and the University Police Department for their assistance.

The department said additional information will be released at a later date.
