Oxford Police launch spring women’s self-defense classes

The Oxford Police Department kicks off its spring 2026 session of women’s self-defense classes this evening. The free program is open to all women and is led by certified officers who teach realistic techniques to enhance safety and confidence.

The class starts at 6 p.m. at the OPD training room, located within the police department. No registration is required to attend.

Organizers encourage community members to join and start the season with safety skills that could prove valuable in real-world situations, according to OPD officials.
