Oxford schools close for the week; delayed board meeting announced

Oxford schools will remain closed through Jan. 30, according to district officials. The closure affects all classes for the remainder of the week.

The school board meeting scheduled for Monday evening has been postponed. A new date will be announced as soon as possible, officials said.

District representatives noted that their website is currently unable to be updated. As a result, social media channels and text alerts will serve as the primary sources of information for families and staff.

Warming sites are available at the Conference Center and Lafayette County Arena. Residents are advised to follow the City of Oxford and Oxford Police Department pages for continuous updates.
