Oxford Utilities pulls crews off the road amid dangerous conditions

Oxford Utilities announced Monday night that it has pulled its crews off the road because of dangerous weather conditions. The utility said the situation is too risky for workers to continue operations.

According to the company, trees are snapping and falling around linemen working in bucket trucks. The company said it cannot clear lines faster than limbs are falling, creating a hazardous environment.

Oxford Utilities plans to resume full operations at first light. The company urged residents to stay safe and remain indoors overnight as crews wait for conditions to improve.
