Power restoration efforts underway amid winter storm, officials warn of delays

Power restoration notifications are being sent as sections of the utility’s system are re-energized, but officials warn these messages may not be fully reliable during winter storm recovery, according to a company spokesperson.

Crews are currently focused on restoring the system’s backbone, including three-phase lines that supply critical infrastructure such as water and gas facilities. When a section of line is repaired and energized, an automated message is sent to customers connected to that section.

However, customers whose service is fed from tap lines beyond the main system may not see power restored even if they receive a notification. Utility officials advise residents to re-report outages if they remain without power after receiving a restoration notice.

The utility emphasizes that repairs are ongoing and encourages customers to stay cautious and report any continued outages to assist crews in identifying remaining damage outside the main system.
