Storm Causes Tree and Power Line Damage Across County

Power lines and trees are causing disruptions across parts of the county following recent storm activity, according to emergency officials.

Highway 9 remains blocked by downed trees, and Maryland Department of Transportation crews are working to clear the roadway. A deputy is on scene near the highway and the Panola County line.

On Highway 6 West near 4 County Road 3053, a transformer is burning, and the local fire department is en route to the scene. Additionally, authorities reported multiple locations with downed power lines, including 456 Highway 334, 168 County Road 104, 408 Highway 6 West, and 16 County Road 302. Emergency responders are on scene at several of these sites.

There is no information yet on injuries or the estimated time for restoring power and clearing the roads.
