University of Mississippi provides updates as winter weather impacts campus

The University of Mississippi is prioritizing the safety of students, faculty, and staff as winter weather continues to impact the campus and surrounding community.

The GCF Student Union remains open and has power, serving as a warming shelter for students and employees. The university notes that it cannot provide food at the Student Union at this time. Water bottle dispensers on every level are operational.

The Rebel Market is serving as the university’s food service location during this event. Its hours on Monday are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Power has been restored to several residence halls. Crews are working around the clock to restore power to remaining halls, coordinating with local utility providers and emergency partners to do so safely and as quickly as possible.

The university has established a call center for non-emergency updates at 662-915-7211. The call center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to stay informed and exercise patience during these challenging conditions. Additional updates will be shared as new information becomes available.
