Warming Centers Open in Oxford and Lafayette County as Cold Weather Continues

Warming centers are available in Oxford and Lafayette County to assist residents during cold weather, according to local officials.

The City of Oxford’s warming centers are open now at three locations: the Oxford Police Department at 9 Industrial Park Drive, and three Oxford Fire Department stations at 399 McElroy Drive, 399 F.D. “Buddy” East Parkway, and 200 Mall Drive.

Lafayette County’s warming centers are scheduled to open Saturday at 9 a.m. at five locations: the Lafayette County Fire Department at 599 Highway 310, and stations at 153 County Road 436, 11 County Road 287, 4 County Road 109, and 8 County Road 4089.

Officials advise residents to bring medications, phone chargers, and blankets or coats if available. In case of emergency, residents should call 911, and for non-emergency needs, they are encouraged to contact their local agencies.
