Oxford Man Arrested on Stalking, Fleeing Charges After Pursuit
OXFORD, Miss. – A 23-year-old Okolona man has been arrested on multiple charges following a police pursuit in Oxford last week.
According to the Oxford Police Department (OPD), officers received a call on August 6, 2025, about a man actively violating a protection order. The suspect, identified as Mitchell Wren, was located in the parking garage off the Square. When officers attempted to make contact, Wren fled the scene in a vehicle.
Police said the pursuit was quickly terminated for safety reasons. The following day, investigators obtained arrest warrants for aggravated stalking, felony fleeing, and protection order violation.
Wren was later located in Monroe County and taken into custody by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department. He was transported to Oxford and booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
OPD thanked Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook and his department for their assistance in the case.
