Lafayette County deputies complete driving training at Water Valley Municipal Airport

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office conducted driving training for its entire department, according to a post from the office.

The training took place at the Water Valley Municipal Airport, which allowed the sheriff’s office to use its facility for 48 hours, the post said. Sheriff Joey East thanked the airport for providing access to the site.

The Water Valley Police Department and the Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Office also helped make the training possible and participated alongside the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, according to the post.

The sheriff’s office said the training was intended to help deputies sharpen the driving skills they rely on while serving and protecting the community. The post described joint training as a way for the agencies to strengthen their ability to work together.
