Lafayette County deputies continue training in driving, firearms and specialized skills

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies regularly participate in training after completing the academy, describing continued preparation as part of law enforcement work.

According to a post from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the training is intended to sharpen deputies’ skills, help them stay prepared for emergencies and support continued learning about challenges they may face in the field.

The office said the training includes driving and firearms instruction, along with specialized training for different units.

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said the goal is for deputies to be ready when the community needs them.
