Panola County man charged with grand larceny after reported vehicle theft in Lafayette County
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said Christopher Darby, 18, of Panola County, was charged with one count of grand larceny after the agency received a report of money stolen from a motor vehicle.
The report was received Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, according to a Sept. 30 release from the sheriff’s office. The office said its Criminal Investigations Division investigated the report.
Darby was arrested Sept. 29 and booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center, according to the release. He appeared Wednesday, Sept. 30, before the Lafayette County Justice Court for an initial appearance.
A Justice Court judge set Darby’s bond at $5,000, the sheriff’s office said.
The charge is an allegation. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
