Lafayette County and Oxford face slight risk of severe weather, high rain chances forecasted

Lafayette County and the city of Oxford are under a slight risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather today, according to weather officials. Today’s forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms starting this morning, with rain likely throughout the afternoon. Rain chances are near 100 percent, with highs in the upper 60s and light north winds around 5 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue into tonight, with rain chances remaining at 90 percent before gradually decreasing after midnight. Lows are forecasted to be in the lower 50s, officials said.
