Lafayette County authorities restore phone service after outage

Lafayette County authorities announced Monday that their phone lines are back in service following a temporary outage. The department had previously warned residents that their lines were down, affecting non-emergency communications.

Officials advised residents to call 911 for emergencies and provided an alternative contact number, 662-234-6421, for non-emergency police assistance. The department apologized for the inconvenience and promised to update the public once service was restored.

The outage caused disruptions in communication, prompting officials to notify the community through social media updates. There were no reports of additional issues related to the outage as of publication.
