Lafayette County deputies visit schools with K9 Rip to promote safety
Deputy Dutton and K9 Rip returned to Lafayette County classrooms this week to engage with students and promote safety awareness. They visited several third-grade classes, where they talked about the role of law enforcement and what it’s like to work alongside a K9 partner, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Rip was a highlight of the visits, earning smiles, questions, and new fans among the students. The deputies said the program aims to build positive relationships with young community members and foster trust in law enforcement.
The sheriff’s office expressed pride in its efforts to connect with local schools and looks forward to future community outreach events.
