Lafayette County Opens MRE and Water Distribution Sites

Multiple sites in Lafayette County are distributing MREs and bottled water to residents in need. The distribution began at noon and will continue until supplies are exhausted, according to local officials.

Residents are limited to three days’ worth of supplies per person to ensure equitable distribution. Sites include the Harmontown State Police Substation, Lafayette High School, Lafayette County Fire Station 3, Oasis Church, Taylor Community Center, and several fire stations.

In the city of Oxford, distribution points are located at CB Webb, Wayne Johnson Thacker at Garden Terrace, and other designated sites. The Mississippi National Guard is staffing these locations to assist with distribution efforts.

Officials urge residents to be patient and kind during distribution, as supplies are limited. The program will continue until supplies are depleted, officials said.
