Lafayette County, Oxford Distribute Emergency Water and MREs

Residents in Lafayette County and Oxford are reminded they can collect emergency supplies, including water and MREs, at designated sites today until supplies run out, according to local officials.

In Lafayette County, distribution sites include the Harmontown State Firestone Substation at 12 County Road 517, Lafayette High School at 160 Commodore Drive, and Lafayette County Fire Station 3 at 22 County Road 369. The Lafayette County Fire Station 6 is also participating.

In the city of Oxford, supplies are available at CB Webb, Thacker at Garden Terrace, and Wayne Johnson, as per the county and city officials. Residents are advised to be patient and courteous to workers at these sites.

Officials emphasized the importance of community cooperation during this distribution effort, encouraging residents to share the information with neighbors who may not see the notice. They expressed confidence that the community will get through the situation together.
