Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office commended Academy Director Chuck Jenkins for his role as a founding member of S.T.O.R.M. (Sobriety Trained Officers Representing Mississippi). Jenkins was recognized Tuesday during the organization’s 30th anniversary celebration, marking three decades of efforts to improve DUI enforcement and occupant safety in Mississippi.

S.T.O.R.M. has focused on reducing alcohol-related crashes and saving lives on Mississippi roads since its inception in 1996. Jenkins has been involved with the organization since its early days, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to traffic safety, according to the sheriff’s office.

Also honored at the event was retired Oxford Police Department Deputy Chief Kevin Stark, recognized for his contributions to DUI enforcement and traffic safety over several decades. Dillion Cates, S.T.O.R.M. president, expressed appreciation for the dedication of both Jenkins and Stark and emphasized continuing the organization’s mission into the future.
