The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office and L-O-U Crime Stoppers are hosting the third annual Lafayette County Youth Academy, a free five-day camp aimed at introducing young people to law enforcement careers.

The program offers students a chance to learn about the challenges and rewards of working in law enforcement through classroom instruction, demonstrations, and practical exercises conducted alongside real officers.

Participants gain firsthand experience and insight into the profession, fostering community engagement and career exploration among youth in the area.

The camp emphasizes interactive learning, with activities designed to give students a better understanding of the responsibilities and skills required in law enforcement roles.
