Mississippi authorities seize over $1 million in drugs, arrest two in Jackson area
Mississippi law enforcement officials arrested two people and seized more than $1 million worth of narcotics during a raid in Jackson and Brandon on February 5, 2026. The operation involved the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Capitol Police Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol, and Jackson Police Department.
Agents served multiple search warrants at two residences in Jackson and one in Brandon as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. They arrested 49-year-old Sean Antonio King and 50-year-old Latonya Hopson King. Authorities identified Sean King as a multi-drug distributor operating in the region.
Officials seized approximately 146 pounds of methamphetamine, 7 pounds of fentanyl powder, 65,000 fentanyl pills, 2.2 ounces of crack cocaine, and 4.4 pounds of powder cocaine. They also confiscated six firearms, including two rifles and four pistols, three vehicles, two Rolex watches valued at about $42,000, and over $23,000 in cash.
Latonya King faces charges including aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine while in possession of a firearm, as well as possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute. Sean King faces similar charges, along with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The investigation remains active as authorities pursue additional leads, according to Mississippi Department of Public Safety officials.
Commissioner Sean Tindell praised law enforcement efforts, stating, “Operations like this highlight the dedication and hard work of our law enforcement partners across the state. The Mississippi Department of Public Safety remains committed to keeping our communities safe and holding those who traffic illegal narcotics accountable.”
