Mississippi Capitol Police honor K9 officers during National Dog Month

Mississippi Capitol Police are recognizing their K9 officers during August, which is National Dog Month. The department shared photos of four dogs — Tank, Crow, Rambo, and BoBo — serving alongside their handlers.

The K9s perform a variety of roles, including tracking, narcotics detection, and explosives and weapons detection. Department officials say the dogs bring valuable skills to their work and are always ready to serve.

While the officers may indulge in treats and belly rubs this month, officials emphasize that the dogs remain focused and prepared for duty. The department encourages the public to show appreciation for the K9 units and their handlers who work tirelessly every day.
