Mississippi honors retired law enforcement leader with highway dedication

The Mississippi Department of Transportation has dedicated the Colonel Donnell Berry Memorial Highway on U.S. Highway 49 in Yazoo County.

Berry served more than 35 years with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Mississippi Department of Public Safety. He held roles as chief of the highway patrol and assistant commissioner of public safety.

State officials, local leaders, and the Berry family participated in the tribute, which honors his leadership, integrity, and commitment to public service, according to the department.
