Mississippi safety officials educate Hinds County residents on public alerts
Officials from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety spoke at the Hinds County Citizens Academy earlier this week. Representatives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Special Operations Division, and Major Crimes Division provided an overview of the department’s public safety alerts.
The team highlighted several alert programs, including AMBER Alerts, Endangered Missing Child Alerts, Silver Alerts, and Blue Alerts. These programs are designed to quickly disseminate critical information during emergencies.
Department officials emphasized the importance of community awareness and encouraged residents to stay informed about available resources that help keep Mississippi safe. The event aimed to educate the public on how these alerts can assist in locating missing persons and responding to emergencies effectively.
