Mississippi Senator Meets with Educators to Discuss Math Instruction

Mississippi State Senator Nicole Boyd met with educators from Oxford School District to discuss mathematics instruction. The meeting focused on gathering unfiltered feedback from teachers and administrators involved in daily classroom work.

Participants included LaNatra Pegues, an OSD math coach; Jill Caples, an Oxford Middle School principal; Jeff Clay, an Oxford Middle School principal; Natalie Hertl from Oxford Intermediate School; and Dr. Rock, dean of the University of Mississippi School of Education. The group emphasized that listening to frontline educators can lead to stronger policies and better student outcomes.
