OHS Speech & Debate team wins four state championships at MHSAA meet

The Orange High School Speech & Debate team earned four state championships and placed third overall in debate sweeps at the MHSAA State Championships over the weekend, marking the team’s best showing in school history, according to school officials.

Jasper Parsons and Max Millinovich won the state title in Policy Debate. Sienna Reilly and Yewon Woo secured the championship in Duet Acting. Reilly also claimed the state title in Expository Speaking. Jun Jang and Hugh Wilson won the Public Forum Debate championship, officials said.

Hugh Wilson finished as a state runner-up and was awarded a $1,500 scholarship. The team’s success was celebrated by school officials and supporters, who praised the students’ dedication and skill.
