Oxford Animal Shelter Transports 12 Dogs During Winter Storm
During a recent winter storm that caused power and water outages, the Oxford Animal Resource Center acted quickly to protect its animals. Director Kelli Briscoe and her team coordinated with the Animal Friends Humane Society in Hamilton, Ohio, through a national rescue partnership.
After a week of vet checks and planning, the team transported 12 shelter dogs early on February 10. All the dogs arrived safely, and three have already been adopted into new homes.
Oxford’s own Munchkin and Whiskey appeared on Cincinnati’s Fox 19 news to help find their forever families. Briscoe emphasized the importance of cooperation among shelters, saying, “When different shelters struggle, we all feel it. We step in to help ease as many burdens for each other as possible, no matter the location or distance. Saving these animals is our priority.”
