Oxford Girls Wrestling wins historic state titles

The Oxford Girls Wrestling team made history with its highest finish ever at the state tournament, capturing two individual championships and earning several top placements, according to school officials.

Anna Grace Perez competed at 100 pounds and finished as the state runner-up, while Izzy Balkin placed third at 107 pounds. Greyce Brown finished fourth at 120 pounds, and Gigi Whitten took third at 126 pounds.

Lauren Morris won the state title at 132 pounds. Prashna Tamang finished as the runner-up at 165 pounds, and Nhari Jones secured the championship at 185 pounds. Nalani Haralston also placed seventh at 185 pounds, and Terri Tallie finished third at 235 pounds.

The team also achieved success in dual tournaments, earning the North Half State Dual Championship and North Half individual tournament state titles. Additionally, they placed third at the State Dual and second in the team standings at the individual state tournament, according to school officials.
