Oxford Police Department Hosts Drug Take Back Day on April 25

The Oxford Police Department will hold a Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in an effort to promote safe disposal of unused medications.

Participants can bring tablets, capsules, patches, prescription medications, and vitamins. Liquids must be in their original, sealed containers. Vaping devices are also accepted if lithium batteries are removed. The department will not accept syringes, needles or illicit drugs, according to officials.

The event aims to reduce medication misuse and prevent substances from falling into the wrong hands, officials said. Community members are encouraged to work together to keep homes and neighborhoods safe.
