Oxford police officers excel at National LawFit Competition
Oxford police officers showcased their strength and teamwork at the National LawFit Competition, earning several top honors. The department announced the results on social media, praising the officers’ dedication and performance.
Officer Dylan Hudson finished first in the 1.5-mile run, while Detective Atziri Ortiz placed third, and Officer Johnie Hudson finished fourth. In pull-ups, Captain Ben Hamilton earned third place, and Lt. Mike Burks finished fifth. The department also secured third place in the four-man team competition with a score of 1,437.
The team received seven individual awards. Lt. Mike Burks was named Rookie of the Year, and Detective Ortiz was recognized as a top-five female competitor. The department expressed pride in the officers’ performance and representation at the national event.
