Oxford police say city does not set Halloween date or host official trick-or-treating
The Oxford Police Department said the City of Oxford does not change the date of Halloween and does not host official trick-or-treating.
In a Facebook post, the department said the Oxford Police Department remains ready to provide assistance as needed during large gatherings and events involving pedestrian traffic.
The department also asked neighborhoods that plan to host trick-or-treaters on a night other than Halloween to message the department. It said it would be willing to promote those neighborhood plans on its social media platforms.
The post ended with a Halloween greeting.
