Oxford stuns South Panola on the road to advance in 6A state playoffs
Oxford went up highway 6 as the #4 seed to take on long time foe South Panola, the #1 seed and in some publications the #1 6A team in the state.

Oxford moved to 5-1 all-time as the #4 seed in the playoffs with a 35-28 victory on Friday night to advance in the 6A playoffs.
Oxford continues to claim first round playoff victories, having not lost a first round palyoff game in over a decade.
The Chargers jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after taking the ball and scoring with a 50 yard pass from Trip Maxwell to Jack Harper.
The air assault was just getting started.
Oxford would put up three touchdowns through the air in the first quarter for a 21-0 lead that they would stretch to 28-7 at the half after the Tigers connected on a 70 yard scoring strike from David Hubbard to Ethan Johnson and the Chargers answered with a Roman Gregory 33 yard rushing score.
The Tigers would score 21 unanswered in the second half after a pair of Hubbard scores and a Dee Perteet 7 yard rush tied the game up.
The Chargers would do what they do in the playoffs, answering the call with the game on the line.
Maxwell connected with Cashe Shows for a 70 yard touchdown pass with just 2:45 ramaining in the game and Elijah Wadley intercepted Hubabrd on the ensuing South Panola drive to help seal the victory for Oxford.
With the win, the Chargers (8-4) travel to Madison Central (10-1) next Friday night in the second round. Oxford fell to MC earlier this season and look to take revenge in the playoffs.
